Get your shakes on! You can finally check all your e-mail accounts as well as non-Gmail accounts — TOGETHER!
Nearly everyone has more than one e-mail address nowadays for different purposes. Android users who have more than one e-mail account have been struggling for a long time tapping and switching between their Gmail accounts on their Android devices, while other e-mail applications can pack up and organize all e-mails in one inbox. Now
One mail to rule them all! Gmail for Android offers a unified inbox for its users where they can read and respond to messages from different accounts (including Microsoft and Yahoo) in one place!
To get started with this new unified inbox, switch to the “All Inboxes” option in the app and that’s it.
Conversation view
Not only that, but Google also expanded its threaded conversations feature to include Yahoo, Outlook.com, and other IMAP/POP accounts so that messages would appear as one conversation.
“You’ve told us threaded conversations are one of your favorite Gmail features because they keep your messages organized and give you all the context you need to reply to those long email threads. Now messages from your Yahoo, Outlook.com and other IMAP/POP accounts will get the same special treatment, appearing neatly stacked as one conversation.” — Régis Décamps wrote in a blog post.
Smarter Search
In addition, Google enhanced its Gmail’s auto-complete feature to make search not just not just extremely fast, but also more responsive with built-in animations and larger attachment previews. You can also save to Drive with a single tap.
” Search is the cornerstone of Google, and of Gmail. The new Gmail app for Android has better auto-complete, so you can find what you need even faster.” — posted Régis Décamps.
