google overseas calls free

Shocking as it might sound, but not everybody owns a mobile phone, a tablet or any other communication device. As a result, making phone calls, international calls in particular, is fairly expensive for millions of people in the US and in many parts of the world. Last March, Google announced a new mobile release with irresistible innovations as a step forward towards globalisation.

The giant search engine is also trying to help its users in the US by making overseas calls free or at least cheaper than their actual cost. It looks like Google is keeping its promise to build a global network suitable for every network user in the US.

” You will see us announce it in the coming months, I think we are at a stage where it is important to think about hardware, software and connectability together,” said Google’s vice president Sundar Pichai

Cheaper overseas calls with Google

Three-UKAs a means to eliminate international roaming fees for Americans, word has it that Google is in talks with the Hong Kong-based Hutchison Whampoa, owner of the Three network about a deal to make overseas calls for American consumers as the same cost as local texts, calls, and mobile packet data within the US. Hutchison is also a supporter of low cost overseas calls and has already gotten rid of roaming fees for Three Mobile customers in many countries. This dynamic partnership has already shaken the mobile market because by partnering with Hutchison, Google can extend its mobile sales to countries where the Chinese conglomerate owns mobile networks, such as: the UK, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Denmark and Austria. Although it is said that Google has no plans to offer the same service to UK users, it hasn’t denied the possibility for doing so in the future. The reason behind the focus on reducing overseas calls in the US and less in European countries is because the European mobile network market is already adopting this strategy and regulators are aiming at not only eradicating, but also abolishing roaming fees across Europe to create a unified network for European countries.

Where is going to be first launched?

Google will offer it’s global network plan to cities that have Google Fiber, such as Kansas, Texas and Utah because it will take a longer time for Google to roll out it’s network in cities in which it has yet to install the required infrastructre. Google Fiber is a network strategy in the US fixed-line telecoms market that is similar to Google cheap overseas calls. Google Fiber is a project to build fibre optic networks in regions in the US where the internet infrastructure investment isn’t thriving.

What does this initiative bring to the future?

It is very clear that Google’s intentions revolve around not just bringing profits to the giant tech company, but more importantly, to make the network world a cheaper and a better place. Google’s initiative to set foot into the voice network market may be the corner stone to establish itself as an internet service provider. Moreover, by sparking a competitive environment, more companies will be encouraged to invest new technologies to enhance mobile network coverage.
