How to Allow VPN through ESET Firewall (Easy Method)
Follow the steps below in order to stop ESET Antivirus from blocking your VPN connection on your Windows system:
1- Right-click to open the ESET icon which is located at the bottom right corner of the system tray. Windows 7 users may need to click on the small triangle in order to be able to view the ESET icon.
2- Next, click on “Open Window”.
3- From the right panel, choose “Toggle Advanced Mode”. You will then be prompted, in this case, click on “Yes” to continue.
4- From the navigation panel located on the left, go to “Setup”, and then choose “Personal Firewall”.
5- Next, choose “Configuration rules and zones…”.
6- Click on the “New” button.
7- In the “General” tab, you will need to set a name for your rule, you can give it any name of your choice (e.g: bVPN) in the “Name” field.
9- Select “Both” from the dropdown menu of the “Direction” field.
10- In the “Action” field, select “Allow” from the dropdown menu.
11- In the “Protocol” field, choose “TCP & UDP”.
12- Set the “Profile” field to “For every”.
13- Now, move on to the “Local” tab.
14- From the “Local” tab, click on the “Browse” button, and then locate the path for your VPN application.
15- Make sure that all the columns for your VPN app are set to “Allow”.
1- Click on “OK” to save your settings.
