What is PPTP VPN?
PPTP VPN is short for “Point to Point Protocol” supported by Microsoft dial-up. It is known for being very user-friendly and so easy to set up since all you need Host Name, Login and Password in the settings section of your network. In this article we explain how you can simply configure PPTP VPN on your Android Lollipop device. Just Follow the steps below:
1. From your “Home Screen“, go to Settings
2. Tap on More
3. Tap on VPN
4. Tap on the +.sign on the top left corner, next to the search icon
5. Enter the VPN name you want, and then:
a) Select “PPTP” as a “Type”.
b) Set “Server Address” from this list: “My Servers” (ex: ro1.ibvpn.com).
c) Save.
How to use personal PPTP VPN with your Android Lollipop:
• Head over to VPN settings (Settings>More>VPN)
• Tap on the VPN network which you have already configured
• Type in your username and password, then tap Connect. Your username (e-mail address) and password (VPN passoword) can be viewed from the client field under “My Details”
• You will find a small key-like icon on the left corner in your notification bar, this icon indicated that your phone is connected to the VPN
• Check your IP address
