Is Android smartwatch replacing our smartphones or will they remain temporary companions?
Wearables, especially the Android smartwatch, are becoming more than just a fashionable craze as their market is growing impressively faster than the smartphone or tablet market. According to Techhive.com, wearable sales have tripled within just a year, and will grow 500 percent by 2018.
What are wearables anyway?
“Wearable technology” or “wearables” refer to a type of electronic technologies (small computers) that are integrated into clothing items and accessories sych as: watches in order to perform many of the same computing tasks as smartphones or laptop computers. This type of technology is far more sophisticated than hand-held tech as it specializes in providing sensory type features that aren’t usually found in mobile and laptop devices.
The smartwatch is a type of watch worn on your wrist and can wirelessly connect to the internet to deliver information just as fast as your smartphone or tablet only smaller in size. Same as your smartphone, the typical uses for a smartwatch include: reading texts, checking emails, getting directions, and capturing photos as well. The only difference is that it’s “hands-free”, so it is perfect while driving instead of using your phone. It is also small in size and doesn’t occupy much space. Smartwatches are also useful for fitness lovers and trackers, they can have their Facebook, Twitter, messages and e-mails on their wrists.
