VPN In Touch is a dedicated VPN service that has been holding its place in the VPN market since 2011. The company is fairly small and provides basic VPN services for those who are not looking for a highly advanced, but equally secure VPN. In this review, we have tested VPN In Touch using their free trial account. Scroll down for details.
The Website
VPN In Touch has a very basic and simple website. Though not copious and polished like some other VPN providers, it does bear useful information about the features provided by the company. There is a small F.A.Q section of the most commonly asked questions about the service. Some pages are broken, including the blog section. All in all, we were not very impressed with the website. It needs to be more organised than this and include more information about the services provided.
Pricing
VPN In Touch offers 3 price plans, all include the same features. We find 1-month plan rather expensive compared to the other 2 packages.
- *1 month for $9.98
- *6 months for $2.99 per month
- *1 year for $2.49 per month
Free Trial & Refund
VPN In Touch offers 2 types of free trial accounts:
*24-hour free trial
*7-day free trial for users who register and download the VPN client on iOS (iPhones, iPads, iPod Touch), Android or Windows 8+ devices.
As for VPN In Touch’s refund policy, VPN In Touch offers a one-off 100% 30-day money-back guarantee if bandwidth usage does not exceed 500MB and the purchase was made via PayPal or Google Checkout.
Payment Methods
VPN In Touch accepts the following payments: PayPal, Google Checkout or iTunes app store. Unfortunately, they do not take credit cards or accept anonymous payment options, such as: Bitcoin.
Privacy
VPN In Touch does not keep traffic logs. This means that all of your browsing activities are not stored or tracked. However, the company keeps some records of your contact information (e-mail, username, password) as well as your IP address.
” What data we collect: When you register we will collect your username, email address, password (encrypted) and IP address.”
The privacy policy section on their website is very concise and not as transparent as other VPN services we have reviewed before.
VPN In Touch Features
In this section, we will go through the different features provided by VPN In Touch, their level of security, speed and overall performance. Scroll down for more details.
Security
VPN In Touch supports strong encryption protocols, such as: OpenVPN, L2TP/IPsec and PPTP. We always recommend using OpenVPN as it is the most secure and strongest encryption protocol. In this way, you will be able to carry out your online activities while your IP address is completely hidden and your connection is strongly encrypted.
Compatibility
VPN In Touch is compatible with popular platforms, such as: Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Android. It is not mentioned if Linux is supported or not. Though their compatibility with platforms is limited, they cover most commonly used platforms to work on multiple devices, including: desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets.
Servers & Bandwidth
Despite having a significantly small network of servers (total of 15), but they are strategically placed across 8 important countries, including: USA, UK, CANADA, FRANCE, GERMANY, JAPAN, NETHERLANDS, SINGAPORE & GERMANY.
Having servers in those locations remarkably assists in bypassing geo-restrictions to unblock and stream restricted web content and services, such as: Netflix, Hulu, BBC iPlayer, Sky Sports, Amazon Fire, Spotify, etc. Moreover, users can easily enjoy unrestricted switching between servers without a hassle.
As for bandwidth, VPN In Touch provides unlimited bandwidth as well as unlimited data transfer.
Simultaneous Connections
VPN In Touch offers 3 simultaneous connections only to be used on multiple devices.
P2P/Torrenting
P2P sharing and torrent use is permitted with all servers except for those located in the US.
The Client
VPN In Touch has a very simple and user-friendly client. We have downloaded their client for Windows desktop and took it for a spin. The signing-up process is very easy. All you need to do is register for an account which takes only about 2-3 minutes. After that, you can go to their download page and install their software. We registered for a free trial and we had a decent experience with the service. There is only one server (US server) available for free subscribers.
Customer Support
Live chat support is not available. However, you can reach their support team via e-mail, which we found to be less effective. We have corresponded with their support team, however, we still did not receive a reply.
Conclusion
VPN In Touch is a decent service if you are looking for a basic VPN with strong security measures. However, if you are looking for an advanced VPN service, VPN In Touch might not be the one for you.
